Gelin is 13.
He was brought to the garbage dump at age 4 to help his mother and father collect recyclable items. He spent most of his life there and there were nights that he slept on pieces of cardboard at the dump. His parents rented a small place that had no water or bathroom or beds. Gelin grew up without needed clothing or shoes. His mother left him when he was 3 and his father battled alcoholism for a long time and died by hangging in 2008.
When Gelin was found by A Heart To Love Ministry he was 7 years old and sick with anemia and parasites and not going to school. He is now with us in Cascabel and getting an education. Today the woman that took him in and his 2 brothers and sister, is the Cascabel cook. Gelin is one of the artists.
