Project Opportunities from Flutemaker Ministries for 2009-2010
Overall Mission - to make the mission at Cascabel a self sufficient ministry that will feed, clothe, and school the children, help to pull the poor out of poverty, create jobs, and get in a position to help others.
Flutemaker Ministries monthly donations are currently insufficient to cover the costs for food. For that reason the ministry seeks your help to raise the "Food Money".
1) Fundraising goal for Food Project: $2155
Description: Meet food budget every month.
These gifts are the most important thing that we can do in Cascabel. I have seen personally the health and vitality changes that have come upon the kids because of regular nutrition. We are building businesses, we are building bedrooms and all of these things are needed but without a regular food budget, we have warm, dry children with empty bellies.

12 of the 31 Kids are living at the home under the care of Pastor Carlos and his wife. They receive daily breakfast, lunch and dinner at a cost of $5 per day, $35 per week, $140 per month per child. The total cost to feed the children living at the home is $1,680.00 per month. The other 19 are school-age children from the community who come for breakfast on schools days. The cost for each additional child’s lunch is $1.25 which translates to $23.75 per day, 5 days a week $118.75 which is $475.00 per month. Total cost to feed all 31 children per month is $2,155.00 US DOLLARS.

As of December 1, 2009 we have 23 Grace Gifts of $25 coming in to feed the kids. We needed 100 Grace Gifts. Can you become a partner with Flutemaker Ministries? Or help with a one time gift as we find the remaining 87 Grace Gifts.

Projects that need ownership in Cascabel
Shipping Container- We are needing a business to fund the shipping of a container. Flutemaker ministries will give you a tax deductible receipt. To ship with Crowley a 40 foot container will cost $4,144.50. The company will drop it off at Cascabel. This will birth a thriving flea market and get them set up with a refrigerator, gas oven, washing machine. I like to think that our second hand items can pull many out of poverty.

Misc Merchandise- Once the shipping container is funded we will need the following donations from the South Florida area: appliances, clothes, shoes, art supplies, tools, bikes, educational materials, kitchen things, chairs, bed room dressers and flea market items they can use or sell.

Uniles Market- We have opened a small store in Uniles that is providing income for Cascabel. We need to upgrade the market by buying a freezer for $600.00 and adding 2 display areas for more products, costing $180.00.

DONE! OCTOBER 2009
Additional rooms to be built for children onto current building. We need to build 3 more bed rooms by adding 3 walls, 3 windows and 3 doors to existing 44 foot wall. This will help to expand the home to help rescue more kids in distress.

2010 Project: The Big House is a 2 story home on the property that will house many children as well as Pastor Carlos and his family. There are more kids in need of rescue. We are raising money for the foundation. A $10 Paypal donation will buy 100 lbs of cement! Will you help Erik the flutemaker build this house?

Projects other than Cascabel:
We are looking for a church or a cell group to take on some of the additional projects outside of Cascabel
Consider taking on a village and begin to help that village strive toward self sufficiency like we are doing in Cascabel.
Here are a few opportunities:
DONE: Sewing shop: In Uniles there are 5 ladies who sew who have no machines. We need 5 sewing machines, cloth, thread, buttons scissors cutting table. $1,325.00. If 5 donors could give $265 each, we could change their economy! Thanks Dane Neves with Devine Faith Mission in NC

Oven in Uniles, finished May, 2009
Industrial Bakery: Uniles is a community struggling to rise out of poverty. Some of the people we are reaching out to walk the distance to Somoto to bake but they earn very little. We want to help them run a bakery in their own village. We already own a ½ acre of land bought for $1,200 in 2007 in the name of the children's ministry. We built an Industrial Oven in May of 2009. We now need the following to make this dream a reality:
Bakery needs: To upgrade old adobe house next to oven to be the temporary small factory. Waiting for estimate.
If we tear the adobe house down, clean up the roof tile for reuse and build a 20 x 5 meter work shop out of block with 4 divisions, to make baked products, sales room, kitchen and dormitory it will cost $8,111.
Installing electricity will cost $1,015.
As we develop the bakery business in Uniles it can one day provide rent for the home in Cascabel.
The water provided by the town is only available 2 days a week for 2 hours. A well would give us water 24 hours a day. To put in a well, pump and water tank would cost $7,080. We are looking for well ministries to dig this well in Uniles.

Project in Chinchal: To help 4 ladies who have an oven and need 3 sacks of flower, 40 large metal bread pans, sugar and oil. Waiting for estimate.
